Nursing Assistant

Duties and responsibilities: Basically a certified nursing assistant is a person who helps patients with healthcare needs under the supervision of a registered nurse. These are 5 important duties for a nursing assistant:
  • Feed, bathe and dress patients
  • Take patient vital signs
  • Serve meals, make beds and keep rooms clean
  • Set up medical equipment and assist with some medical procedures
  • Answer calls for help and observe changes in a patient’s condition or behavior

Salary: $25,090

Education: To become a CNA you need, you’ll need a high school diploma or GED, plus nursing assistant training. You can find these programs at community colleges, trade schools and medical facilities. Before you enroll you have to make sure that the program is approved by your state’s nursing board to get in. You will also need a Associate of science in nursing.

Demand for this profession: The employment of nursing assistant’s is projected to grow 17 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average of all occupations.

Reflection: Yes, i would like to be this person because i help others. I get to help others that need it and i have a stable job. I also would like to be this person because i can help my family members when they are sick and i will know when they are sick and when they are not sick. I would be a great job and i would like to help the world and our community for people to be less sick.
