What this quote means by Wilford Woodruff is that whenever you do something wrong nothing is ever gained. This also means that when you do something wrong you will gain nothing against you because it is and will never be a good thing to do. If you do the right thing you are choosing the right and you will gain more things but when you choose the wrong and don’t do what is right you will not gain a lot of things. This is why it is very important to choose the right, and do the right thing because you gain a lot of things. Wilford’s quote is right because if you think about it when you chose the wrong you don’t gain nothing and when you choose the right you gain many more things that you will appreciate in your life than not gaining anything. For example, if you want a good future and you want to graduate high school but you don’t have good grades and you decide to not work hard you will not gain the chance of you going to college or university and graduating high school. In order to gain something you have to work hard and never give up so you can gain things like graduating, going to college, having your dream car etc…. It will be hard to be someone in life but if you work hard it will be worth it and you will say one day that working hard and never giving up was the best thing that you could’ve done and will not regret it. This is the reason why you should always do right to gain more things because if you choose the wrong you will not gain anything and one day you will look back and regret it.
